![]() The item is only provided to the store when someone orders it, and is otherwise stored in the same warehouse it normally resides in. Order and item available online for pickup in store. Meanwhile, why the hell are their like 8 TIMES the cribs available online than in store? Why can't I go online in the store and order them? They are just being stored in a warehouse, you know the kind of warehouse that stores ALL THE DAMNED CRIBS ALREADY SHOWING ON THE SALES FLOOR!So thinking this way, I figure "You know, I bet if I call the 1888 number and talk to a customer service rep, they will have a lot more power to bend rules, or tell me how to order and online only crib for store delivery."Hello, thank you for calling Babies R Us, how can I help you?""Um, I have a voucher for a recalled crib, but all the cribs in your store were discontinued and there was virtually no stock available (and none in white) and I was wondering if it is possible to ship an online item to the store so I can use this voucher there?""No""Huh?""No, we can't do anything like that because no one else on the entire planet does anything like that and you know, there is no way we are going to make it possible for you to replace a crib that could have killed your child in a simple way, you have to jump through hoops.""You know I can do this sort of thing at all kinds of vendors these days. Hmmmm, well they say "Online Only" which doesn't give me warm fuzzies. In fact it turns out that virtually every crib on their salesfloor is DISCONTINUED and that new stock is coming in "Real soon now!" Oh, and it will all cost $300 or more.We find an alternate that is of course ALSO discontinued and in disgust we leave. At home, I get the bright idea that maybe there will be cribs online we can arrange to have delivered to a store so we can pay for it at the store and use our "In Store Only!" coupon. (Okay, she didn't know that until I politely tell her this). She offers to check other stores. Not Antique White either, just regular, plain old WHITE. Do you want a different color"No I don't want a different color! I have a white furniture set I bought to go with a.WHITE crib. Go ahead, check the warehouse"I'm still thinking I'm going to have a good trip and get my crib ordered, since I was pretty sure this would happen to start with."Hmmm, this isn't showing any white cribs being available. ![]() So the saleswoman takes the tag from the crib and goes back to her computer."Sorry, I'm going to have to get this from the warehouse, we don't have it in stock here.""Well duh! You never have ANYTHING in stock except what is on the floor right now. Let's ignore the asinine "In Stock means In Stock in our Warehouse, and we can have it here next week!" policy. ![]() What the hell? I want to buy a high dollar item, and I have to go search the store for assistance. So I search the store to find SOMEONE to let me buy it. Clearly you are hoping we spend more money on a new crib in order to ensure we "spend it all".We notice a lot of cribs are on clearance, but find one which lists white as an available color that we like and is a little cheaper than the one that was recalled. So we did, but now you can't even be good enough to just send us a Babies R Us gift card?! You have to give us a "us it or lose it" crib only voucher. Excuse me? We paid you for this crib out of our money, and you told us that we had to return it because it could kill our child. (The baby will be in a bassinet in our room for a good month or so after he is born, so we aren't leaving this to the last minute).First, the voucher is good "IN STORE ONLY" and "Any amount not used will be lost". Okay, with my second progeny's arrival imminent, and a voucher for our recalled crib in hand, my wife and I headed to the local Babies 'R Us to pick out a new crib.
